The updated program are always free and they replace it about 4 times a year unlike those other protection programs as long as your time is not expired. All you pay for is time, not the program. Other virus programs are good for 4-6 months before the bad folks learn a way around them. You will scan clean when you are dirty if you do not change and keep up with your protection programs.
